The second- generation Bel Air was manufactured from 1955-1957. Body styles included two-door, four-door, and station wagon platforms. Chevrolet marketed the Bel Air as flagship full size offering with upscale features. Full carpeting, stainless steel window moldings, full wheel covers, and optional air conditioning. Starting in 1955, a V-8 engine and power glide transmission were also made available as an option. In 1956, the Bel Air received a full width grille, two-tone paint schemes, and single housing taillights with the left one hiding the fuel filler. This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air is a professional restoration. Painted in a two-tone blue/ white paint scheme. All the glass, stainless, chrome, has been replaced. Pinstriping and raised white letter tires mounted on a meaty set of chrome wheels add a finishing touch to eye catching exterior appearance. The interior is tastefully appointed with a leather/vinyl two-tone leather interior. Features include a Dakota digital instrument cluster, modified 1959 Impala steering wheel, full dark blue carpeting, floor shifter, and matching exterior blue dash and upper door trim. Pulling the exterior and interior together into one cohesive package. Now to the real goodies on this 1956 Bel Air build. Under the hood is a 454 Chevy big block that been completely chromed with braided hoses and chrome radiator with electric fan. The transmission is a Turbo 400 automatic w/ a Hurst quarter stick shifter attached to a GM 12 bolt posi rear end. The suspension consists of polished tubular upper control arms, polished four link rear suspension, and coil over shocks on all four corners. Wilwood power disk brakes, power steering, and a polished stainless steel gas tank were also installed as finishing touches on this beautiful build. .
